The Shepherd's Huts - Access and Details

The Introduction
We offer two Shepherds Huts that sleep 2 people each only, situated in a secluded part of our farm and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests, there are some features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

Pre-Arrival
We are located on a minor road between the villages of Dinton and Wylye. Whilst we are in a peaceful location it is not ideally situated for those travelling without transport. The nearest bus stop is approximately 1 mile in Dinton and the service stops early in the evening.
There are several taxis companies that operate from Salisbury and we are happy to provide their contact details.
We are a working farm with sheep and for the comfort and safety of all our guests, regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
Brochures and menus can be provided in large print if required, but unfortunately we do not have facilities to provide these in Braille.
We have a basic website www.marshwoodfarm.co.uk, which has some pictures of our accommodation and further information about the area.
We can be contacted by telephone, fax or email (details in Contact Section).

Arrival & Car Parking
Please advise us of your approximate arrival time so as to be sure we are here to welcome you and that your accommodation is ready. We normally request that guests arrive after 3pm but earlier may be possible by arrangement.
There is ample parking on a tarmac driveway on arrival before being accompanied to the Shepherds Hut. Access to the Hut is via a gravel track. If your transport is not suitable you may leave it at the farmhouse and we will transport you and your luggage to the hut.

Main Entrance & Reception
There is one step 15cm down to our flag stone porch area and 9cm up into the flag stoned hallway 1.47m wide.  There is a pull bell situated to the right hand side of the doorway.

Each Hut
Each hut is approx. 7’ x 12’, there are wooden steps up to the wooden stable door entrance. Inside there is a fitted double bed, dresser, woodburner, flip out table and 2 chairs. There are 2 wicker storage baskets which slide underneath the bed. The floor, walls and ceiling are wood.
There is a compost toilet which again has steps up.
The huts are situated in a grass field, that is frequently grazed by sheep.

Laundry
For guests staying more than 1 night we offer a 24 hour return laundry service (wash and dry) at an additional charge.  We can provide an iron and ironing board on request.

Newspapers
We can arrange for morning papers (at cost) to be delivered, again please let us know your preferred choice in the evening.
